SINGAPORE - Migrant workers who gather in large numbers in public may have their work passes revoked if they do not disperse when ordered to by the authorities. In a statement on Wednesday (March 25), the Manpower Ministry (MOM) said it would step up inspections on the ground to disperse large gatherings by foreign workers, in particular foreign domestic workers (FDWs).

SINGAPORE: A Singaporean woman was convicted and fined S$50,000 on Tuesday (Sep 26) for running an employment agency without a valid licence. Noor Hayah Gulam, 60, will serve the default 10 weeks in jail instead, as she did not pay the fine.

A maid has been arrested for hurting a 16-month-old toddler under her care by putting the baby girl's hand into a hot pot on a stove. Police arrested the 30-year-old domestic helper on Jan 15 at her employer's home at Block 992B Buangkok Link, in Hougang.
